Hello! My name is Shubham Chapnerkar and I am an Indian Pianist and Composer. I was born in Mumbai on 28th March 1999. I love creating musical arrangements by Ear and Improvise it to make it more interesting and fun to learn. I enjoy listening to all genres of music and creating arrangements in my own style. After a few years of formal training at the local music institute and private lessons, I started teaching piano to expand my knowledge of music to other people. I have been teaching Piano for over 3 years and have completed the Trinity College grade exam.

Biography
It was after the 10th board when I started playing Keyboard to acquire a new skill & to keep myself occupied. We had a Keyboard at our place owned by my big brother. It was lying idle for a very long time. My Father is a singer, so we had an attachment towards music in our genes. Gaming has always been my first love. I was a Professional Gamer & things were going quite well. I got many Prizes, Certificates & Gifts through gaming. As years passed by I began to understand that there is no scope for Gaming in India (2015). So, I started focusing more on music & studies rather than gaming.
Some of My Stats
In search of a new passion, I started exploring Music & found it quite amazing. Slowly my interests started leaning towards Music & I started to learn Music on my own through YouTube Videos.
Under the guidance of my first music teacher – Sharad Kedar, I started to play regional songs on Keyboard. The Basics of Keyboard were taught to me by him & for that I am very grateful to him.
As I wanted to focus more on music, I switched from being a science student to commerce student to which my family supported me. Being a commerce student, I could devote my time to learn, record & play new music pieces & songs. Gradually I started to upload small videos on social media platforms.
While I was in my first year of college, I was uploading videos on social media but no one really knew about me & that really frustrated me. I began to understand that my current skills won’t take me to the next level. To upskill myself professionally, I joined Music group classes for theories & sight reading. As time passed by & the melody started flowing, I got a professional Digital Piano with my savings.

Under the guidance of a second music teacher – Manoj Raikar, I started preparing for my Professional Grade Exams. In November 2018, I appeared for Grade 3 Piano Exams which were held by Trinity College London. The next year I got my Grade 3 Certificate & decided to appear for Grade 5 Piano Exams in October 2019. In December 2019, I got my Grade 5 Certificate.
In the Third Year of my Bachelors College, I participated in a lot of music competitions & won quite a few. Later that year, I represented my college (SIES College of Commerce and Economics) in a Mumbai University Youth Fest Competition in which I secured 1st place at zonal level & 2nd place at university level. After this prestigious achievement, People started to recognize me. Later that year in the college event, I played piano blindfolded for the first time on stage in front of a huge crowd. It was a moment of pride for me playing blindfolded in front of so many people.
In the covid era, life was out of sorts. Things weren’t going quite well. We had a financial crisis as my dad lost his job. As there was no healthy source of income in our family & I was still pursuing my studies, I had to do something for my family. In order to help my family in a small way, I started taking classes online & offline. After my graduation as there was very limited income from music classes, I had to get a job.
During my working days, I used to manage my music career & work life simultaneously. As things started to progress, I started getting engagements, paid music projects & orders from events. One of my major engagements was when one of India’s most famous musicians (zaeden) shared & appreciated my work. It was such an abrupt moment for me. As to grow more & to cope up with the workload, I used to sleep for 3 to 5 hours a day. Next year, I decided to quit my job to become a full-time musician. I upgraded my setup & started posting videos regularly. I met new artists, made new connections & collaborated with them.
So here I am presenting myself as my journey has just begun & there’s a lot to achieve. I want to be the change & an inspiration to budding artists who want to pursue music as a career.
